Upswing partnered with Certain Blacks for Circus Circus Circus – a mixed-bill artist showcase of new work that included roller skates, Chinese pole work and feats via aerial silks woven into stories of birth, race, gender and the cabaret at the end of the world
The artists involved had emerged from our arts development residency (of the same name) at 101 Creation Space in Greenham Common. Read more about the residency here.
The culminating festival took place in 2019 in London’s historic Hoxton Hall. Athena Kugblenu hosted the night, with performances by Symoné, Joana Dias, Out Of Order, Sadiq & Hauk and Amelia Cavallo AKA King Tito Bone
