Caroline Meaby is a cultural and creative industries consultant with 25 years of experience. She began as an entertainment journalist before producing at BBC Children’s, including ‘Blue Peter’, later directing talent schemes at the Edinburgh International TV Festival, working with major broadcasters to promote industry inclusivity.
As Director Arts Network at the British Council, she led 300 arts specialists worldwide and managed global Creative Economy initiatives, bringing major exhibitions to new audiences. Born in East London with British, Indian, and Malawian heritage, Caroline holds an MSc in Organisational Psychology and is completing a coaching diploma at Oxford Brookes University.
Lucy Morgan

“I am honoured to join the board of Upswing Aerial! Upswing brings together the two passions of my own career, circus and social change. I cannot wait to bring their fabulous inclusive shows to more audiences in the coming years. I know the challenges of the current time will spur the company to greater heights of creativity and I am excited to go on that journey with them. “
Lucy Morgan is the only solicitor in the UK who previously had an international career as a trapeze artist. She trained at L’Ecole Nationale de Cirque in Montreal where her coach was Victor Fomin. Lucy performed all over the world as an artist and later choreographer in circus, theatre, film, tv, events and private parties. When her second child was born with Downs Syndrome she founded and ran a charity called Downright Excellent providing educational therapies and support for children with Downs Syndrome. She is now Senior Solicitor at a large national charity where she specialises in data protection and commercial contracts particularly for media, fundraising and all things tech.
Chris Wane

Chris Wane is an investment analyst and strategist, currently Head of Research for The Analyst LLP and before that at DWS Group and Deutsche Bank. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and graduated from Exeter University. He has strong experience and professional interest in financial reporting and governance, as well as valuation and portfolio construction of equities and cross-assets. He is a seasoned trustee and advisor to charitable arts organisations, currently working with Magpie Dance as well as Upswing.
Nina Lyndon

Nina is the co-founder and co-director of Hackney Showroom, a unique hybrid of a grassroots community project and an award-winning arts organisation. Prior to setting up Hackney Showroom Nina ran the Royal Court Young Writers Programme for 10 years. Nina is an artist fellow at Queen Mary University of London Drama Department.
Adese Okojie
“I aim to develop spaces where Black professionals can safely connect, empower each other, and share best practices.”
Adese Okojie founded Black Woman in Human Resources (BWHR) in 2019, inspired by her personal experience of lacking visible role models in her field. With over a decade of HR experience, she currently works as a Senior HR Partner at a global engineering organization, specializing in employee relations and diversity initiatives.
Dr Mercy Nabirye
“I first encountered Upswing’s work in 2012 and was impressed to know about a Black-led organisation dedicated to Circus in a contemporary context! I have been a fan ever since experiencing some of their great productions. I look forward to contributing to Upswing’s growth, sharing my experience of working with diverse arts, artists and creatives who continually feed me new knowledge both in the UK and globally.”
Dr Mercy Nabirye, founding Director of Kauma Arts and a fellow of Windsor Leadership, is a consultant specializing in African Diaspora arts. Her extensive career includes leadership roles at Arts Council England, One Dance UK, and Birmingham Royal Ballet, while serving as a trustee on boards across the UK, USA, and Africa. Her work includes commissions for UNESCO, Caribbean South South Collective, and Pan African Creative Exchange, earning her an Honorary Doctorate from the University of East London in 2021.
