Kickstart Scheme jobs

Upswing is recruiting for two roles, available through the UK Government Kickstart Scheme initiative.

The scheme provides unemployed young people who are in receipt of Universal Credit, the opportunity to gain paid work for 25 hours a week over 6 months. To apply for either of these roles you must be aged 16-24 and in receipt of universal credit.

Outreach ambassador

We are looking for an Outreach Ambassador to join Upswing for the development of a new performance work Falling Together – that will bring together contemporary circus, stand-up comedy and film. 

The Outreach Ambassador will assist Upswing and our two partner theatres Bernie Grant Arts Centre (in Tottenham) and Brixton House (in Brixton/Lambeth) in building audiences and community support.

This role will suit anyone who is enthusiastic about the arts (including circus, stand-up comedy and filmmaking), and who is interested in developing skills in community outreach, marketing and project management. We’re looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable with a positive, approachable, can-do attitude.

Type: Part-time, 25 hours over a 3.5 day week – Working day is 09.30 – 17.30
Hourly rate of pay: London Living Wage, £11.05 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract length: 6 months
Location: Shoreditch, London UK

Administration assistant

We are looking for an Administration Assistant to provide excellent support to the Upswing team in order to help us to deliver our exciting programme of work.

This role will suit anyone who is enthusiastic about the arts and who is interested in developing administrative, organisational and project management skills.

Type: Part-time, 25 hours over a 3.5 day week – Working day is 09.30 – 17.30
Hourly rate of pay: London Living Wage, £11.05 per hour
Start Date: March 2022
Contract length: 6 months
Location: Shoreditch, London UK
