“Circus is an energetic, beautiful and powerful storytelling art from and I love seeing audiences reactions to the work. Joining Upswing at the beginning of this journey with the project Seasons is particularly exciting as my interest lies heavily in cross collaboration and making work in unusual spaces. Upswings desire to create work with circus alongside narrative is really fascinating for me and I am thrilled to be part of the team in this next chapter.”

Emma has worked in theatre and dance for over fifteen years and has been lucky to tour internationally with Complicié, National Theatre, Royal Court, Wildworks and Michael Clark Company. In 2009 she co-founded the company, Transport devising new work and touring both nationally and internationally. In 2017 she found herself running away with the circus – joining NoFit State Circus with two large scale projects alongside their new touring production Lexicon. Emma is also one of the artist advisors with Jerwood Arts.
